Consistency Pays Dividends
There are people out there who do not have the abilities you have earning what more than you.
Just because you have talent in a topic does not default you to success and recognition in it. People who show up and do the work get the recognition.
People who are willing to learn constantly get the rewards of more.
You cannot go through your career, life, relationships expecting to always get what you want without putting any effort in. You won’t.
Hard work will always gain you more in life than talent.
Talent helps. Talent comes from hard work. People who are hungry for knowledge gain the talent. The ones who win and earn the rewards are the people who consistently show up to put the work in.
Hard Work Beats Talent When Talent Doesn’t Work
“Hard Work Beats Talent When Talent Doesn’t Work” is lesson number 8 of 45 lessons Dan Martell shares in his video: I’m 45. If you’re in your 20s or 30s, watch this. A video I am going to write a about for every lesson. The previous lessons can be found here: 45 Lessons
Dan Martell is a successful entrepreneur. He is now dedicated to teaching others so they can achieve their dreams just as he has — if they are willing to put in the work. In this video, he shares and briefly explains 45 lessons he found on his way to the success he has today.
Why? Why am I going to go through every single one of the 45 lessons Dan shares? So I can learn and pass on what I have learned to you.
You have to say yes so you can learn what works for you and doesn’t work. You have to say yes so you can challenge yourself.
“Hard work beats talent when talent dosen’t work ~ Tim Notke
This is a quote that is credited to Tim Notke a basketball coach. NBA player Kevin Durant often says this quote had helped him achieve his goals.
Having talent is great. But it does not give a free pass to lasting success. Success constantly takes work and the willingness to risk failure.
Talent is Not Everything
Knowledge is not everything. It will never beat the willingness to learn.
You have the potential to be earning more and working your way to the freedom and life of your dreams. Yet you will not do anything in your spare time to learn. You won’t step up to new tasks at work. You stick to the same ones you learned when you were eager and interested in learning.
The only problem is you want the rewards without doing the work. You are not willing to fail so you can win. Failing is a part of success as much as winning is a part of success.
Often times the people with the talent get complacent. So complacent they do not see the warning signs that someone is coming up behind them that might overtake them if they do not adjust.
Hard Work Always Beats Complacency.
Complacency is a very bad place to be.
Complacency is comfort. It’s saying you don’t want to change anything so you can grow and achieve a new comfort. A comfort that you thought was out of your reach.
Are you okay with always travelling in economy. Or do you want to grow enough to gain business class. Or even further and gain your own private flight? The choice is yours.
You might be the expert in a topic. If you hide that talent you will never gain anything with it.
Share your knowledge so you can learn more. Learn so you can earn more. Repeat.
Use your talents to solve problems for others. Learn so you can solve more complex problems. Solve more complex problems gain more knowledge. Gain more knowledge charge more for you access to your talents.
Learning Gains More for You.
If hard work is your input. Learning is the dividend on your input.
Those two put together on the next project gains you more knowledge (dividend) which increases your ability to solve problems for others.
Dan Martell’s message with this lesson is do not become complacent with your knowledge. Share your skills and grow them. So you can continue to move towards your goals in life.
By the way, even though I qualify for payments on my stories I have decided to stop. I want to help those who are like me. Who are on the starting line and need someone to show them it is possible. I want them to have access to stories that can inspire them to keep going. If you are able and wish to support me, you can do so through buymeacoffee.com/cliffviewlife. Thank you.
