Dear 2022, You Did A Great Job
Now it’s time for me to make 2023 the best for me
You were a year of foundational changes for me. Changes that will redirect my life forever.
You did a great job. Many of your lessons were ones I did not want to learn.
I taught me to realize the large number of opportunities I have shied away from.
It hurt me every time I saw someone who has what I could (maybe) of had. They did not say no to staying safe at home instead of submitting the visa application for the working-holiday visa. They said yes to a few more years of university to get the degree that gave them a job. They said yes to the opportunity that opened a door for them. Even if they door was a blind detour to where they wanted to go.
Time to Step-Up
The biggest lesson you taught me was to step-up and don’t hang back in my own life and in the lives of others in fear of what will they think.
You taught me that it is okay to step-up and start doing things without needing permission or validation.
Because as I learned in 2022, you only rise when you life others up. Life is not a solo race it’s a journey full of both solo work and team work.
Because of you I am overthinking and paralyzing myself indecision less often. I just go. Yes, I am still cautious I don’t just risk everything. But I make faster choices. Putting off the choice I have already made just slows me down from being able to focus on my next opportunity.
Because time is not going to come back. It’s going to keep going forward. There might be another opportunity to do it but it won’t be until I say yes.
Step-up to help others. Serve others and they will notice and reward you. You’ll earn what you’ve been asking for at work. Others will show up when you ask for help. Keep going and trying. Not everyday is perfect but many will have the opportunity to be if you simply do your best to step-up and work on yourself and help those around you.
2022, you gave me the foundation to lean on to for letting go of my fears of being seen. Of learning to make mistakes while stepping up. Because where I want to go is going to take both.
Courage in the face of stepping-up
Where I want 2023 to take me is going to take courage. Where I see myself when I close my eyes and think ahead 5-, 10- and maybe 15-years. Is the same vision of colours, sounds, and feeling that will take courage, commitment and love to get to.
2021 was about progress. To move forward in my life by no longer adding onto my life more weight without letting go of something.
2022 was about momentum. To move forward in a direction that will teach me where I do and don’t want to go.
Today in start of 2023, I am thinking bigger.
2023 is about courage for my future. Not just for my financial income but for my health. 2023 is about investing into my future wealth in finances and health.
Time to find the courage to continue (and restart) habits that I know are good for me.
2023 is the time to pursue opportunities, I have previously said no to. No more holding back because I don’t know what will happen.
2023 is the year to get into the best health I have ever had.
2023 is the year to skillup and begin earning an income I am proud of. An income I can support myself on.
2023 is the year to support and serve others. To share what I know so I can help others reach their goals and earn what they never thought possible.
2023 is the year that I will look back on as my launch pad. Not just another year of the same old habits that are not moving me towards my future vision.
2022 you set me up for this time. Now it is up to me to make 2023 the best it can be for me and for my future.
Goodbye 2022 and let’s go 2023!
