Habit #10. Recognize, Realize and Trust the Process
When I started this journey to change my life, I didn’t really know where it was going to take me except for forward.
And that was all I needed to start.
It was one of the moments when I trusted myself to start and figure things out as I go. That’s the whole point to everything in my life right now. Just trust myself and move forward. I will learn and gain the skills and equipment I need as I work through this journey.
This series of posts isn’t me reflecting on habits and decisions I made in the past. This series is what is really happening to me right now.
One of the many things I have learned in the last three months is that you have to trust both the process and trust you can learn.
Many times we all give up on dreams because we don’t trust ourselves. We don’t trust that we can finish. We don’t trust that we can get through the growing pains of learning and training. We settle (with reluctance) with just dreaming and never doing anything about our dreams.
Your life is not going to change unless you can trust yourself.
The process to change your life (our build your dream) is not easy. No change is easy. That is why we all hate change. It also takes commitment and willingness to learn.
Sometimes in order to keep moving forward you have to pause to recognize how much progress you have already made and realize you still have more to do.
The time to reflect and set your direction is not always when you hit a plateau but as you move forward.
Recognize What You Have Achieved.
We are our own worst enemies. Our own negative thoughts can stop us from doing a lot of things. We talk ourselves out of doing what we want to do.
You are probably further along than you realize. You have solved problems you didn’t think you could. Guaranteed right now you have more skills and confidence in yourself than you did when you first started.
Don’t just save recognition for once a month or several months. Use it on days when everything has gone wrong. When…
