Habit #28: You Are Your Future.
52 Habits To Change My Life
--
The choices we have made have lead us to this place. Right here now.
I made choices which lead me here.
I have worked hard. Stepped up whenever I could. I had good days, average days, and horrible days.
I have sat down to write and ended up watching renovation videos.
I have said no to opportunities because of fear. I have said no to opportunities because I assumed it wouldn’t happen anyways, so why get my hopes up. Those chances could have changed my life sooner towards the place I thought I would be by now.
My past has lead me to this place. But it is not my future.
Forget
the
Mistake.
Remember
the
Lesson.
The lessons will remain but the lost opportunities will not define me — any more
I have allowed myself to be defined by the bad things that have happened. Instead of seeing the silver linings, I only say the black clouds. I only saw the people ignoring me, forgetting me, and saying no.
One year from now. I will be able to say this is the moment where I choose to stop holding myself back. And I am working towards the big dreams that everyone has said no to.
What do you call yourself?
Do you call yourself a failure? Or a success?
Do you call yourself unworthy? Or worthy?
Because it matters.
If you call yourself negative or great things you will believe them. Even as you try to break yourself from calling yourself a failure, unworthy, unqualified, not good enough, you will be triggered to call yourself those things.
It is hard to change. It takes time and effort. But what it takes the most is the commitment to change. Choose to call yourself worthy. Remind yourself of how far you have come. Remind yourself of the things you hace achieved.
You matter and you are worthy of everything. You are not your past. You are your future.
