Emotions are everything.

Every moment of the day are bodies are creating feelings that impact how we act, show-up and make decisions. Some are for protection and warnings (like the feelings of being sick). Others are for excitement and joy (lots of energy and enthusiasm).

This post is not about hormones or how you can create the emotions you want. I am not a expert in any of those. This post is about how important is to know what emotions you currently have and the ones you want to have.

Know the Difference Between Reacting and Creating

We are not Vulcans (the species of beings that Spock on Star Trek is) who do not experience emotions. Vulcans can only respond logically to situations. They decisions based only on the facts.

We, humans, have emotions.

We react to all situations. Some of us have very little control over are reactions. We react to every situation. By doing so we allow others to control our lives.

Some of us have a lot of control (or maturity) over our reactions. We don’t flip completely out when things go wrong. We respond in ways that help solve the situation; not make it worse.

You are not going to be happy constantly. You are not going to always want to do what you need to do gain the “happiness” or fulfilment you want.

There will be thousands of times when you will react to the moment. That is what being a human and having feelings is. Reacting becomes a problem when you are constantly focused on the current situation you are in and not on what emotions you want to create.

When you create your emotions. You are will take actions that support the outcome you want. You won’t allow your body to react to a stressful situation but find a way to remain calm and focused on what the best outcome is. You will be focused on seeking what fulfills you.

You create the joy, peace, happiness, enthusiasm, energy, calm, and hope in your life.

You do not rely on others to determine how you are feeling.
